Is a speedo a speedo when it's loose fitting?

Ok, technically I don't own a Speedo, the brand is Nike! I bought it when I weighed 230 pounds. Wednesday I weighed in at 202. It's kind of funny how fascinated I am now about my weight. About 2 years ago, during a presentation, I questioned a doctor about the obesity scale (isn't some of the increase in obesity because the changes in the scale?) in which part of his response was that I was borderline obese!

I thought the guy was nuts! And who was he to call me obese when he clearly had a huge spare tire?

Well, I agree with him now! I had the fortune and misfortune to have my overweightedness (new word, I like it) to be very well distributed. I saw other 30 and 40 year olds that were obviously obese and separated myself from them because I didn't look like them. At least I didn't in my little delusional world.

But, as I have already said, now I weigh 202 pounds and I think I can lose another 10-12 fairly easily. If this is true then I will have lost almost 50 pounds that I didn't even know I had to lose. I thought being at 215 would be great but doubted that I could achieve that.

Which brings me to the speedo. Does a person look ridiculous if the speedo is a little loose? It's a swim "jammer" not a brief, I do care about the general public. I know, it seems a bit shallow to care but really, I can look ridiculous for a while and it would be just fine, I don't care. And I guess it's not much to replace a swimsuit.

I think I may be making a big deal out of this because I'm absolutely afraid of putting on and finding the wetsuit too baggy. ;-(

I am finally getting over the flu or whatever it was, it certainly felt like the flu. I thought I was all better Tuesday night, so Wednesday I prioritized working out since I had done nothing since Saturday. I had a great swim and interval run. Very pleased with it, in fact three of my .5 mile intervals were @ 7:20 pace.

Then (dramatic music please) Thursday I suddenly have a 101.6 temp and Friday 102.5 and hurting all over! The head, the diaphragm when I coughed or even breathed hard, everywhere along my neck and back. I know us guys are supposedly wimpy (and it's probably true) when it comes to being sick, but whatever, this sucked like nothing I have experienced in a long time.

Finally, Saturday I felt half as much as better, highest temp was @ 100.6 and today, no fever and while weak and achy, I can move without wanting to fall down and whimper on the floor.

Well, perhaps I'm being slightly over dramatic.

Speaking of drama, as much as I'm looking forward to the 1/2 marathon in Duluth, I really want to sherpa IMCDA. But I anticipate meeting some great people up in Duluth. People I know and have met at the running club as well as Steve, Pharmie, MissAllycat and perhaps even SimplyStu! I might even have some NRF's (non running friends) and NTF's there! (non-triathlon friends)

Anybody else going to be up in Duluth for the marathon or 1/2 marathon?

Awesome - you must feel great. And, the jammer is supposed to be tight. Once you start swimming in it, if it's too big it will feel like it's dragging... but what do I know since I've never worn one.
Are you going to Sherpa at CdA? It's going to be a blast - drinking mojitos and cheering on the rest of the group - I can't wait.
    Nice new header!
