Ch-ch-ch-changes

Still don’t know what I was waiting for
And my time was running wild

A million dead-end streets and
Every time I thought I’d got it made
It seemed the taste was not so sweet
So I turned myself to face me
But I’ve never caught a glimpse
Of how the others must see the faker
I’m much too fast to take that test

Ch-ch-ch-ch-changes
(turn and face the strain)
Ch-ch-changes
Don’t want to be a richer man
Ch-ch-ch-ch-changes
(turn and face the strain)
Ch-ch-changes
Just gonna have to be a different man
Time may change me
But I can’t trace time

I watch the ripples change their size
But never leave the stream
Of warm impermanence
So the days float through my eyes
But still the days seem the same

Hi Everybody,

I'm not sure if all of Changes by David Bowie applies to me but the above certainly rings much truth.

But the reality is that it is simply the song going through my head right now as I am thinking of the changes that I have made to my race schedule.

First of all, I have decided to not go to the Olympic length triathlon by Lifenets in Mandan N.D. this year.
There are two reasons for this.
1) I was not happy with my legs and the run at Lifetime, so I decided to finish off the year with short course triathlons. I will be going to the Lakes Country Triathlon in Baxter, Mn on August 26th and then may race Square Lakes Triathlon in Stillwater in September.
2) Baxter, Mn is closer to us then Mandan, Nd. We have a busy next 5 weeks, particularly next 5 weekends. It starts with Angela and the kids at Girl Scout Camp Wednesday through Friday and then all of us packing up to a cabin to soak up some friendship rays (5 families soakin in the love and some sun). Then on August 3rd, we pack up for 8 days of camping at the UP of Michigan as well 1 night on Madeline Island in Northern Wisconsin. Then I come back to work before the next weekend at Wisconsin Dells and then the weekend after that in Baxter for my triathlon. Then the following weekend is Labor Day and school starts.

Wow, I'm already tired.

Anyway, as I already mentioned, you can see on my schedule to the right that I have made some changes and you can also see that I am able to run the TC10 on October 7th. This was a lottery pick only run and a good distance for me at this time (I think)! How come I win this lottery and not 75 mil on the Powerball? Oh well, I heard it helps to buy a ticket and plus running makes me younger and, who knows, 75 mil might kill me anyway. (I had no idea on where I should but the commas on that last sentence)

Also take a look at the start of my 2008 tentative schedule. Some scheduling is tough since I work every 3rd weekend and I am not sure if the races are the same weekends every year or not. But if there are any Minnesotans or bordering staters' that want to make suggestions, I would love to take a look at options.

  1. Thanks for leaving a comment on my blog. I saw that your thinking about Changs half in 2008. I did it last year and it was a lot of fun. The only problem was that it was really cold. Like 27 at race time. But that was a fluke. Good luck to you in your triathlon training and racing!!
